Lucy and Chris’ Toronto City Hall wedding was everything I expected it to be, and perfectly “them” in every way.
Friends and family started arriving and Lucy was so happy as she was saying hi to everyone – some coming all the way from Scotland to be there to share the day. She and Chris walked into their ceremony together, and after exchanging their vows and rings, they shared their first kiss as husband and wife! It was short and sweet, just like they had wanted.
We braved the heat for some photos with the downtown Toronto cityscape in the background, and then I couldn’t resist taking some photos in the same area that some scenes from The Handmaids Tale were filmed earlier this year! ;) But my favourite part of their portraits was by the fountains in Nathan Phillips’ Square. There’s no better feeling than working on an idea in your head for months and then having it come together exactly as you wanted it to!
Reception
Instead of having a formal reception, Lucy and Chris invited their family and friends to Weslodge for dinner and drinks. The food was amazing and to say the staff was incredible is such an understatement. Everyone around the room was having the best time! Like always, we ended the night with a night photo outside of Weslodge’s giant yellow doors.
It was the best ending to a perfect day. Nothing makes me happier than getting to do what I love while celebrating friends!
Lucy – thank you for so many years of friendship. No matter how much time goes by, or how much distance is between us, we still pick up right where we left off (usually about something One Tree Hill related) and that will always mean so much to me. I love seeing you so happy and can’t wait to see what this next chapter in life has in store for you <3
