Victoria + Eric’s Engagement Session

Engagements

Grand Bend weddings are some of my favourites – and nearby, Ipperwash Beach is the perfect spot for an engagement session!

Victoria and Eric met Emily there with plans for photos during sunset. But, Mother Nature had other ideas. There was a storm blowing in from the distance! There was a good chance that they were going to get rained out but they decided to make the best of it while they could.

Thankfully they were still able to get a bit of Lake Huron’s epic sunset view! It made the most colourful, moody backdrop that we are completely obsessed with šŸ˜

Take a look at some of our favourite moments, and read more of their story from Victoria’s perspective!

How did you meet?

We met in high school through mutual friends but were just friends. We went different ways when we went to college but ran into each other when Eric transferred to Fanshawe, where I was going, and reconnected on Facebook. Eric shared a video of the trailer for Jurassic World, we started talking again, and well as they say the rest is history.

What made you two connect so well in the beginning?

Our love of Dinosaurs and other nerdy interests. We were/are both awkward, nerdy people.

Who said ā€œI love youā€ first?

I honestly donā€™t remember, it was so long ago and we say it every day so itā€™s hard to remember the first time.

Who proposed?!

Eric. I had been bugging and bugging him for the better part of the year and all I got was, ‘it happens when it happens’ basically. Well, we were in Mexico on vacation with my family, and the last day weā€™re there we went to a cenote (a freshwater spring). There was this cliff you could jump off into the water, and heā€™s like ‘letā€™s go take a picture up there.’ So we got my dad’s friend to use my camera and we went up to take a picture standing side by side. Then, all of sudden Eric’s moving, turning, and Iā€™m like ‘what are you doing’ – and I realize heā€™s getting down on one knee! Iā€™m like ‘OMG’ and then, of course, I said yes! And then someone, I think my dad’s friend, said, ‘you took one plunge now take the next’ – so we jumped off the cliff into the water (after I gave my mom my ring so I didnā€™t lose it!).Ā  I was shaking the rest of the time we were there, I was excited and overwhelmed and just in a daze over the whole moment.
