| A Downtown London Family Mini Session |
I’ve been finding a hard time finding the right words to go along with this blog post, and that’s not something that happens to me very often!
You see, I have a special connection to this family. Ethan is my stepson, and we have all been navigating this crazy blended family life for 11 years now. Anyone who has ever been on this path knows that it’s not easy! Cass and I have been on a hell of a journey together, filled with ups and downs along the way. But now, here we are. The reason I was having such a hard time writing this post is because I can’t really find the words yet to explain how it feels to come through the some of the hardest times, and to still manage to one day find a way to put the past in the past. All I can say is that it meant so much to me, and I left this session feeling a bit of peace and appreciation that I hadn’t felt in a long time!
My favourite part (aside from Hope’s sunglasses, which melt my heart a little every time I see her in them. I just can’t!!) was after I took my very last photo. Hope and Ethan were goofing around on some steps, and I turned around to ask Cass if there was anything else she was hoping for before we finished up. She stood there, watching her favourite little humans, with a smile on her face and a sparkle in her eye. There was so much love and happiness seeping through every part of her expression. I’ve always known that she was a great mom, but there was just something about this particular moment that really just said it all.
