If there’s one thing wedding photographers everywhere can agree on, it’s that you absolutely must have sunset wedding photos!
It’s the perfect chance to step away from the chaos of a wedding reception. It’s a good kind of chaos, but in the whirlwind of the day, it’s important to press “pause” when you can to just take it all in! And sunset wedding photos are the perfect excuse to do just that.
The best time to plan for this is within an hour of sunset. If there’s an area near your reception venue that faces west – the later you plan your sunset wedding photos, the better! All you need to do is go to Google and type in “Sunset” with your wedding date. For example, “Sunset June 24th”. The results will tell you an approximate time to expect sunset in your area!
You might have to sneak away during dinner if sunset is early. If you’re having a summer wedding, you’ll probably be able to wait until the dancing has gotten underway!
No matter what, though, I hope you’ll take my advice and don’t pass on sunset photos!
