Living in Canada means that from the end of October to the middle of May, things get pretty quiet (until I finally set up shop in a warmer climate for half the year… a girl can dream, right?!). And by pretty quiet, I mean REALLY quiet. Winter weddings are becoming much more popular but I still only get one or two a year, and family photos are non-existent since we wouldn’t be able to see any tiny little faces buried under all their snowsuits, hats, and mitts! So how to I spend my days? Mostly by doing things like bookkeeping, filing, and other office tasks. The kind of work that drains every bit of creativity out of me!
To keep things fresh and save my sanity, I start daydreaming of the perfectly decorated weddings I see every time I log into Facebook or Instagram, and then start planning to turn those daydreams into a styled bridal session!
I reached out to my friends Amy and Kassandra at Unmistakably You Weddings & Events, and we got to work finding the perfect vendors to join us. Patsy from Patzee’s Floral Scapes created some of the most beautiful décor that I have ever seen, from a wearable garland bouquet to a head table covered in florals, to an incredible dessert table with three of the most intricately decorated cakes. Patsy and her team are seriously talented beyond words!
Sue from Smitten Paper Designs created a beautiful, laser-cut invitation suite and the stationary for the table settings, and Ballett’s Bridal Shoppe and Selah Vie Hair and Makeup Artistry rounded out the team that was on hand to transform our model, Ines, into a blushing bride! This girl absolutely rocks every photo shoot she does and I love getting the chance to work with her <3
