Barb and Matt’s Iberostar Punta Mita wedding in Punta Mita, Mexico this past April could not have turned out any more perfectly! From the weather, to the decor, to the guests, it really was a wedding that I won’t soon forget.
We arrived in Mexico a few days before the wedding. It gave me a rare opportunity to not only get to know the area, but also to get to know the wedding party and guests. All I can say is, what a fantastic group of people! I was lucky enough to be able to bring my husband along on the trip, too. He and I felt like we made some new friends for life.
The night before the wedding, the soon-to-be newlyweds shared a beautiful sunset dinner together. I wanted to capture the moment for them but didn’t want to intrude, so I stood on a balcony at the resort and shot this beautiful moment from afar…
Before we knew it, the wedding day had arrived! It was nothing but blue skies and a fresh ocean breeze for their Iberostar Punta Mita wedding.
They decided to do a first look on a little footbridge surrounded by gardens. We headed back into the resort for their portraits and used the gorgeous space as a backdrop. The next stop was out onto the beach with the wedding party. Then it was time for the ceremony!
Barb and Matt said their vows to one another with a gorgeous ocean view backdrop. They were surrounded by their closest family and friends! Afterward, they led their guests over to another ocean view terrace for their cocktail hour. Complete with a mariachi band to play for everyone :)
It was soon time for the reception. During speeches, the sun started setting into one of the most gorgeous sights I’ve ever seen. After we were treated to an *amazing* and hilarious speech by an adorable little three-year-old. Then it was time for the couple to have their first dance! Add in the most picture-perfect backdrop I ever could have asked for, and it was truly an unforgettable night.
And then, after their sparkler send-off, I was about to put my camera away for the night… Until the wedding party decided that it was time for a dip in the pool! The best man jumped right in with his suit still on. Barb decided to follow his lead – she jumped in while she was still wearing her wedding gown!
I want to give a huge thank-you to Barb and Matt for having us along on their trip, and inviting me to capture one of the happiest days of their lives! It was such a pleasure and I could not be happier with how all of the photos turned out :)
