I remember looking through so many wedding planning books, articles, and calendars when I first started planning my day. It was frustrating because every one seemed to be giving different advice. I had already been working in the wedding industry for a while, so I’ll be honest – some of the advice in those books was questionable at best.
I’ve been in the wedding industry for more than eleven years now, and that’s given me better insight into planning a wedding than any of the books I looked at. And I wanted to share some of that with you today!
These two wedding vendors should be the first you hire for your day:
Your wedding venue is the single key factor in determining your wedding date. Wedding venues book out further in advance than any other vendors. Most can only take on one wedding per day! Some venues are already booking into 2025.
A wedding planner does so much more for your wedding day than you even realize. More than I could even write here in this blog. Above everything else, they want to make your wedding day dreams come true and will help you do it within the budget you’ve set. They can offer recommendations so you have a dream team of wedding vendors to work with on your day, and just generally get. shit. done. so you can sit back and enjoy your wedding day stress-free.
The order that you book these two is interchangeable. A wedding planner can either help you with your search for the perfect wedding venue. Or, they can jump in once your date is set and help you with the rest :)
