Wedding days are always filled with so much happiness, but Elizabeth, Nicholas, and all of their family and friends came together in April to celebrate much more than a wedding!
Their daughter Abigail’s story is truly inspirational. At only 3 years old, she suffered a stroke, and had an extremely long battle, fighting every step of the way. She had an incredible team of doctors, and of course the undying love and support from her mom, step-dad, and other family members, to support her through her recovery, and she was able to walk herself down the aisle when her mom and step-dad officially said “I Do!”
The ceremony was so sweet, with Elizabeth and Nicholas reading vows they had written for one another, and including Abigail in their sand ceremony, as well as with vows written just for her from Nicholas. And it was a nice change of pace doing some wedding photos in the city rather than in a park setting, especially since it was before the spring bloom. It was so much fun getting to play around with light and reflections, and I couldn’t have had an easier couple to take photos of :)
My favourite part of the day had to be at the time of Elizabeth and Nicholas’ first dance. They had a special dance planned to include Abigail to start off with, which was going to lead into their first dance, but Abigail was ready to get the fun started. Putting on her favourite songs from the Trolls soundtrack, she walked around the room and started grabbing the hands of all of her favourite people in the room, pulling them one-by-one onto the dance floor to join her! My heart absolutely melted. These are the moments that make me love my job so much!
Elizabeth, Nicholas, and Abigail – thank you so much for welcoming me to be apart of such an incredible moment in your lives. I truly wish you a lifetime of health, happiness, love, and adventures <3
