Every now and then I get the chance to shoot a wedding where everything has come together so perfectly, it’s almost kismet.
Amber, Alex and I first “met” over Skype for their wedding consultation, since they live a couple of hours away. (Real talk: I love Skype meetings. I do my hair and makeup and put on a nice shirt, but you better believe I have PJ pants on every. single. time.)
They drove to London last fall for their engagement session, and we all just hit it off so well. I loved getting to hear all about how they first met when Alex was working at a library, and getting to incorporate so much of their story into their photos! I anxiously awaited their wedding day to finally arrive, and when it finally did, it did not disappoint.
Windermere Manor was the perfect venue for the elegant literature-themed wedding that Amber and Alex had planned! Everything from the white drapery, greenery and candles, to the custom bookmark place cards, and Gatsby-esque suits and dresses fit together flawlessly. It was truly stunning!
Throughout everything, my favourite moment of the whole day was Amber and Alex’s first look. It was the kind of first look that got me tearing up behind my camera! Alex waited underneath a tree, and I played their first dance song quietly from my phone as Amber walked closer. When Alex turned around and saw his almost-wife, it was like time froze. It was the most perfectly sweet and tender moment, every reason why I love first looks so damn much.
Thank you so much for having me as part of your day, you guys!! <3
